Finding new supporters for a national charity

My integrated campaign resulted in thousands of new warm contacts at low costs…

Finding new supporters for a national charity

The problem: ‘Acquisition’ was the 2020 buzz word for a national animal welfare charity I helped with an integrated campaign.

The charity, focussed on research into disease which impacts animals, needed to bring new people to the organisation to increase fundraising income across its various activities.

The solution: I devised and project managed a campaign called ‘Cures 4 Paws’ which aimed to highlight to dog owners that the organisation was the only UK charity researching cancer in dogs, and it needed their support.

As a multi-channel campaign it involved several agencies, including design, digital and media-buying, all managed centrally by me.

The Cures 4 Paws campaign integrated Facebook, print and TV advertising. The adverts invited dog owners to download a free guide on signs of cancer to look out for in their dog. On downloading the guide, dog owners then received a series of follow up emails telling them more about the charity.

The campaign was timed specifically to take advantage of heightened traffic and awareness around all things doggy in the run up to, and around, Crufts 2020.

The results: The Facebook advertising campaign, which ran for just short of one month, performed significantly better than other channels.

The adverts reached in excess of 500,000 dog lovers, and crucially, delivered almost 7,000 new contacts at a cost of less than 75p per lead.
